Lab Outing - Stradbroke Island

Finally the weather is good today! My lab had planned for an outing at stradbroke island since a month ago. Original plan was to go on last wed, but we had continuous raining throughout the week so its postponed to today. I've prepared grilled chicken wings for the picnic too! Woke up ard 7+am this morning, had my breakfast and then I went to school. Beware....alotttttt of photos below!

Yesterday is a 2pid and tiring day...

Woke up early and quickly packed my luggage and stuffs before going down to the shell station near toowong. The plan is to rent a Ute and pick up Charissa and Kenneth before starting to shift our stuffs to the new place. I've picked up the keys on Saturday from the house agent so everything is planned and ready to go. Charissa ended church around the time I was going off to rent the Ute so we met up and went together...Kenneth have book out of his motel and is waiting for us outside the motel.

Usually there's always a lot of Ute that's available for rent even on weekends. We saw only one left when we reached there so we tried tried to rent it, only to find out its already booked by someone and would be picking it up in 1hr+ time...Luckily the guy told us that there will be a Ute available by 5pm so we booked that instead. In the meanwhile, Charissa and I went down to meet up with Kenneth. Then we went down to toowong shopping centre to buy some bedroom stuffs for both of them. The car rental agent then called me to say we could pick up the Ute earlier, thus after leaving the purchases in our new house, we went down to pick up the Ute again...

After trying out the Ute...its really OMG!!!
I thought I could drive a manual car, but didn't realised the Ute is totally different from what I've drove before in the past. Its like a sports car! The clutch is uber tall, car body is so high, power so strong...I just simply dunno how to drive it! Luckily Charissa manage to ask one of her friends to come down and help driving it...=X

The process of shifting the house is freaking tiring and back-aching...We had to get my stuffs from 3 places, Nikki's garage, Luke's house and my ex-housemate's friend's garage. Charissa's stuffs from Kim's place and some from Nikki's garage too. We have sooooo muchhhh stuffs (esp all the kitchen stuffs i have=X) that a Ute alone can't carry everything in a go! Luckily we still had Charissa's friend's car which we managed to fold my SPRING MATTRESS and SQUEEZE it into the car. We shifted everything till evening time, where we then went down to Mayfair to have dinner - Crispy Chicken with fried rice! They cook really nice food there=) After that, we continue to shift things till about 11+pm...finally return the Ute!

Next thing is to clean up the house!!! OMG...imagine, the stuffs we've put into the house! In the end, we didn't manage to clean up much before deciding to take a rest...(carrying the dining table through the narrow staircase up the car park and up to our house is a nightmare!)

Today I've went to sch and had to take a cab back at around 10+am to open the gate for Ikea furniture movers to come in...=.=" (They said betw. 12 ~3pm!) In the afternoon, Charissa and I went to Toowong to get more necessities and we saw a good 4 piece sofa set with a table in Kmart for clearance sale! After some discussion at night, we've decided to return the couch to Ikea and get this 4 piece set instead=) Anyway, the entire day is another cleaning day for me...T.T

Last day at Luke's house

Today is the last day before I move to my new house at Toowong. Kinda happy that I've finally got a place of my own soon. Kinda sad too, that I'm leaving St Lucia area where I had so much happy and sad memories. I definitely will miss St Lucia, especially my first house here...

Waking up near 9am this morning, as usual after a late night sleep and feeling more lively than usual since I'm going down to Ikea for some furniture shopping in the afternoon=) Washed up, check mails (plus etc...) and suddenly it started to drizzle...sianz x100!
Luckily by the time I left my place to meet my housemates in Toowong, the drizzle has stopped. Thanks again to Beng (Charissa's friend) for driving us there even though he just touch down from his flight from Sg.

Shopping in Ikea is fun and headache! So many good stuffs around but dun have the budget to buy them! In the end, I made up my mind and got myself a nice study desk, a comfortable chair and a shelf=) In the end, I still spend a lot of money there. Charissa and Kenneth got themselves each a queen size mattress, a study desk and a comfort chair. Really nice mattresses they've got there, really comfortable! After choosing the stuffs to buy, we still have to go search for the items and carry them to the counter!!! Freaking tiring thing to do! We have so many items! The worst thing is that we shopped till they closed, left for our car, then we realised that the receipt is wrong! We've got 3 chairs with 1 cheaper one, but they charged us all at the same price! Not only that, we also found out that we've took the wrong legs for our study desk! Which cost us almost $480 because of that! Even cost more than our total price of 3 desks! So after long and tiring talking, changing, and explaining, we finally settled the problem with $400+ lesser on our bills...=.=!!!

Then Charissa's friend drive us to our new place, where we took our keys and toured around it. Amazing to see that u need a key to leave the place through the back door o_O". The house is nice, but I find my room a bit stuffy...thus i decided to.......take out the window!!!! Probably have to change the light bulb to white one too! I don't like yellow light in my room! Tomorrow will be the day...the new beginning...(hopefully i will get internet connections asap!...sob sob...no internet again)

CNY day in Brissy...

Its a blue blue day today for me.
Most people that I know would be celebrating chinese new year in singapore with friends and relatives...anyway, today's plan was to stay at luke's house and "nuaiiiii" till afternoon time. Last night was suppose to have reunion dinner with family...I had it with my friend, Kalai. (Thx alot man!)

Meeting Kalai again today in the afternoon, where we went to watch Valentine's day in Myer's centre and then had dinner at "Wa's" in city...Alright friends, u all having feasts in Singapore for CNY, I'm not too bad also ok! I have Korean steamboat! Look at the food below...that's what I had for CNY dinner...

After the dinner, we had a walk to southbank and strolled around there. Its Valentine's day and couples can be seen everywhere...(give me a chalk, a wall and a corner to myself...)
We strolled till about 9+pm before we decided to go back home...

First day in school...

Answer: Cause I've got orientation on 1st feb and proj outline to submit on the 12th feb...=.="

The orientation is "a bit" useful for the honours year, at least I'm now clearer on my objectives for this year. So sianz when I heard that I have to attend 15 seminars and write diaries on them...Saw some classmates from last semester's classes during the orientation too

In the afternoon, I went to meet up with my supervisor and got myself some notes and previous lit reviews to go through. I'm also shown around the area where I'll be working in and my own office (shared of course!)...

hope this year everything goes on smoothly...

Primary Sch Gathering!

Its so sad...have to be back in Australia so soon! Finally back in St Lucia, at my friend luke's place now
Met up with my primary sch friends yesterday 12pm at lakeside! Waited till near 2pm when we finally start to walk over to our picnic site. We took some photos outside our old primary sch on the way there=) Nice food prepared by our good friends! So many stories to listen to!
Its really nice to meet up with them. Too bad I've to leave early to get ready to return to Australia :/

I will be leaving my home sweet home today...
Yesterday cheekin and veron had a farewell dinner plus a ktv session with me=) We had an expensive Jap dinner at IMM. Thx for the farewell dinner mates! I'd really appreciate it very much! Finally, its my last ktv in singapore 2010...I will be back again sooooon!!!

Days before leaving SG..

Today's plan was to meet up with one of my Aussie friend and go down to sim lim square to get some accessories for my laptop while she take a look at laptops around. In the morning, she drove a very cute car to my place with her sis and then we went to pick up her sis's friend at jurongwest area. Then she drop her sis and friend at SIM (not the one beside NP) before we went down to SP to have breakfast=) First time walking around in SP and feels so much difference compared to my sch - NP. After we had breakfast there, she parked her car there since she dunno the directions to sim lim. And we took mrt from dover to sim lim...
End of the day, I've got myself a watermelon design mouse pad and my friend only took brochures back.
In the evening, Dora, cheekin and I went to clementi Kbox and had ktv for $8 only! We sang from like 7pm onwards till 11.30pm! Cheekin left earlier tho...

1st time to celebrate Christmas!

This is the first time of my life, that my family is celebrating Christmas! We specially bought a turkey at JP's 24hr fairprice and invited many relatives over for dinner! My mum cooked a great feast today! Haha...and I had a terrible time trying to slice the turkey up =S
Hope we can have more gathering like this next time...life will be more 多姿多彩！

Pheiwen's Wedding Part II

Today, early morning about 7am, we were supposed to go send the bride away to her hubby's side. But the cab just don't come! Then in the end we took a bus instead...and nearly lost our way while trying to get there! Bad morning! But manage to see my cousin going off in the car at least=) Heard that her hubby was well prepared! Haha...my cousin's "jie mei" asked for ang bao before opening the door, then suddenly she snatched all his ang bao from his basket! But in the end, many ang baos are empty!!! Good job!

Pheiwen's hubby's side invited us to another wedding dinner (shud be called lunch probably) at the Sg Esplanade (福满楼) in the afternoon.
After two days of traveling around, they're finally married! Omg...getting wedding is really soooo complicated @.@"

Went to malaysia to attend my cousin's wedding! The malaysia's new road to the custom is really weird...can be short, simple and easy but they make it bend here, there and its sooo long! Probably they build it long so that more people can get jammed and stuck there...
At the restaurant, so many relatives looking "weird" after their make up...say this secretly - i think many of them looked better without the "special" make up! One of my cousin even looked like an egyptian! =.=!!! (hair tied up high like a bundle above the head...)
Its a wonderful day today, to have seen my cousin finally married. Hope u recover from your illness, and have a baby soon! =D

Landed in Singapore with the sky looking totally different from Australia, its is so cloudy and weather seems wet here. Mum said she will be picking me up with my uncle but they got trapped in traffic jam=X Have to take cab home...

Finally reached home about 9+pm, and my mum wasn't even on her way back! Still stuck on the road! First thing I do when I touched down is to have a bowl of bak chow mee! haha=P

Reached home, showered, unpack my luggage and...my mum still not home! Anyway, I've to write the white card for going to malaysia next day to attend my cousin's wedding...dun feel like writing...=X

So long havent been updating...have been lethargic and lazy =S

Tomorrow will be the day I leave Brisbane for Singapore! Home sweet Home!
Kinda sad when I look at my room, now empty and never returning back again anymore.
I will miss this home, although it is a bit broken "cui"...with paints falling off here and there. Miss everything around, greeny backyard behind, the macadamia tree behind, the turkeys around, possums above, and my housemates within!
Hopefully my new house in Toowong will make me feel like home!

Today is my b'day, luckily the dust storm yesterday didnt persist till today (Phew!). My housemates Anne & Doreen got me a cake at 12am in the morning! Haha...I was certainly shocked. Thx again mates! So sweet of u both for the plan=)

I was still rushing my assignment till 3am in the morning=X (on my b'day T.T), in the end still didnt managed to complete it before I fall asleep =P. Luckily I still managed to finish it by 12pm after I woke up...I'm realli too slow at writing assignments man....haixxx.

At 1+pm, YangLoong and Xinning picked me up from home, then Vicki too in sch and we went to city to watch movie - G Force (2.30pm). Was so hungry as didnt ate lunch while doing assignment at home in the morning, so we bought some snacks (fish and chips! =DDD) and ate it in the Cinema. Hahaha...the movie is realli funny! Luckily that lead hamster (Darwin) not same name as me, else YangLoong sure call me that forever=X

After the movie (ard 4.30pm), as we're meeting Luke at near 6pm for dinner, we went around shopping in city. YangLoong also need to buy medication rub for his ankle since he'd sprained it during ytd's touch rugby session. And Vicki and I managed to find a gift for Charissa's coming 21st B'day too=)

We then went down to Ribbetts for dinner, meeting Luke there too. Its quite near to school from the Dutton park bridge I heard, not sure how to get here if I were to walk here alone...=X The dinner is realli nice, its my first time having pizza, pasta and ribs buffet! The food is nice too=) Halfway tru the dinner, Xinning gave me my B'day gift. Its the 5th book of Dan Brown! Omg...thx thx YangLoong and Xinning, for remembering I'd said before that I read his books... thx again for the gift! I realli like it alot=)

After dinner, we went shopping again at the place ard logan home piazza (something like that i think) at Amart and BCF there. YangLoong need to repair his fishing rod down at the BCF. And I window shopped too, looking at the nice fishing eqs and lures. But in the end I also didnt buy any, since I dun realli need them (didnt fish recently =X) So many nice sports eq at Amart! Haha...saw a nice punching bag at $69.99 but o well, where can I hang it? =X Luke got himself a nice indoor sport shoe for only $25! So cheap! Omg! But dun have my size!! T.T Guess I'm spending no money again.

Its realli a nice day today for me. Thx friends! For celebrating my B'day with me=)

Bicycle finally!

After all that has happen, I think I've finally managed to put those memories locked up behind me. Things are just like before I know them. At least my best friends are still there for me and my new housemates are great too! Thx again for friends who've been with me!

Thursday is always a good day for me since my first lesson is at 12pm (no need to wake up so early=P). Plus its my last week before the semester break! Although I've quite alot of assignments dued soon, I'm still quite happy knowing that its holiday soon=)

Today I'm intending to go down to Kmart at Indooroopilly during the 4hrs break to collect the bicycle I've ordered yesterday. But argh...! I've forgot to bring the helmet along, have to go back home to get it=X Sianz! Talking abt buying the bike, I've been indecisive for a long time. Trying not to spend too much money here. But finally succumbed to the desire, telling myself its worthwhile since I'll be using it for another 1 year ++ =P. The bike looks better than what I've imagine it to be like (only seen the picture from catalogue), but not as good as the bike I have in singapore=X I miss my bike...too bad I cant bring it over to Australia=D

This month is so busy...zzz...so many assignments to do! Hopefully everything goes well...
